Week 9, Thing 23

1.What were your favorite discoveries or exercises on this learning journey?
Check out Jaclyn's Favorites on Maryland's Sandbox Wiki. Most of these I will keep on using in the future because I enjoy them. Yes, I even like using Wiki now.

2.How has this program assisted or affected your lifelong learning goals?
I have another resource now. Before, when I did research for myself I didn't use the Internet that much because I worked at the one of the branches and it was easy to find a book, or two, or ten that I could check out and I was good. Since 2.0 I've found more options on the Internet that i actually enjoy using.

3.Were there any take-aways or unexpected outcomes from this program that surprised you?
There were some site that I wasn't fond of compared to others but that's because I see a need to use all of them. They just didn't catch my eye like the others. But I'm glad to know about them. Maybe I'll find a reason for those site to use in the future.
The only unexpected event that happened was some random guy from South Korea posted a comment on my blog that was a random comment that had nothing to do with what I was blogging about. It just proves my point that I was making about blogs about how it's a little scary that everyone with an Internet connection can see what your blogging about. That's why people should be careful about how much personal information you put on these things.

4.What could we do differently to improve upon this program’s format or concept? And last but not least…
Overall, I wouldn't change a thing. I'm not sure if this is what you want but when I looked at the participants for other counties some of them labeled the participants under their name (ex. Jane D., Mark W.)instead if the web address. Some even put aberration of the branches next to the names. I liked that so it's easier to find a fellow co-worker.

5.If we offered another discovery program like this in the future, would you again chose to participate?
Definitely yes. I enjoyed learning about all the different site that I can use to personally and for work. I've never really paid attention to site like fickr or del.icio.us or LibraryThing before because I either didn't know about them or I didn't want to take the time to learn about them on my own. Now I love them and now when I'm planning things in the future I'm thinking "I can use this site for this and that on for this" I love see the possibilities.

6.How would you describe your learning experience in a few words or a few sentences, so we can share our successes and promote this program?
Enlightening! I'm so glad I participated. It was a great learning experience.
